Dr Fadi Kreishan (DwSIs) Endodontics tells us more about what he does, and announces his new Endodontic Referral Service in Leeds……
Fadi, can you tell us a bit more about what you do at Enhance Dental?
I hold a Masters Degree in Endodontics from Manchester University and basically, I am the ‘go-to’ practitioner for root treatments within the practice as well as accepting referrals from outside of the practice.
Why did you choose your special interest in Endodontics?
After I qualified in my home country of Jordan, I worked in some prestigious private practices in the capital city Amman. I really enjoyed Endodontic treatment so to further my knowledge and expertise decided to enrol on one of the best postgraduate courses in this field. This happened to be in Manchester, UK, and I have been very fortunate to have been taught by some of the best practitioners at the top of their game.
What do you like best about your work?
I treat all kinds of endodontic problems where the alternative treatment for the tooth would be an extraction. I am also receiving more and more referrals from practitioners outside of the practice which is exciting for me. Enhance Dental is the only practice I work in this side of the Pennines, the rest of the week being spent around Manchester. The practice have been very good to me and I like Yorkshire.
What’s your favourite equipment?
As a dentist we love our ‘toys’, but for me it has to be the Zeiss Operating microscope that I am fortunate to have use of at Enhance Dental. In my opinion, it’s the best and gives me a powerful magnified view of the tooth to help me do my best work. My other must-have is my ‘special mix’ of relaxing music playing in the background. I’m not sure the nurses feel the same way though.
You’ve been with Enhance Dental for about a year now, so what’s next?
Increasing my hours to accommodate the referrals I am receiving.
I have been taking referrals from some local dentists but now plan on opening up that referral service to any practitioner who may want to refer to me. I’ve found that this is a popular service that can help practitioners not experienced in this field.
I can help out by doing the preliminary endodontic (root) treatment and then refer back to the dentist for the follow on treatment. I also have patients who are self-referring for treatment. It really has been a surprise to me as to how the referral service has developed.
Tell us something about yourself that others might not know
I speak three languages, English, Arabic and Romanian. I love watching football. Also, I am a perfectionist, although I think my patients have grown to know this.
Enhance Dental offers all new patients for Endodontic treatment a free, no-obligation consultation.
