Enhance Dental is a dental practice in Garforth, Leeds. Husband and wife, Mark Hanson and Shirley Hannar lead a team of clinicians who offer a range of dental treatments all under one roof.

About Mark:
Mark and Shirley are the principal Dentists and have owned Enhance Dental since 1996. Although Mark has worked as a dentist in Garforth since qualifying in 1986, as many of his patients will remember.
Mark and Shirley met at The University of Leeds where they had no option but to be partnered up as they were next to each other in the alphabet…
Both originally from the Northeast of England they found common ground and hit it off. They put their all into Enhance Dental and have taken the team from strength to strength. Patients can fondly look back over the years of receiving care from both, and many patients refer their friends and family to them.
Mark tolerates cutting the grass, and enjoys walking, playing the piano and chatting cars with his youngest son.

About Shirley:

When Shirley isn’t focusing on the dental business she enjoys gardening, baking, trying the latest Kefir and spending time with her children. Little known fact, Shirley is our DIY queen after growing up playing in the garage with her mechanic father.

Rachel Hanson
About Rachel:
Rachel graduated with a degree in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy in 2016 and was class valedictorian. Rachel has since done a post graduate diploma in Aesthetic Dental Therapy and has completed a Level 7 certificate in Clinical Injectable Therapies.
Rachel joined Enhance Dental in 2017 and prides herself on working hard with her patients to conduct a range of treatments from cosmetic improvements to bettering oral health. Rachel is also our Aesthetic Injectable clinician.
Out of the surgery, Rachel is our Business Development Manager.
Outside of the business and treating patients Rachel loves keeping fit, cooking, and walking her Goldie, George.

Alex Asquith
About Alex:
Alex obtained his Degree in Dentistry in 2012 from the University of Leeds and has since returned to the University as a Clinical Teaching Fellow.
Alex joined Enhance Dental in 2020 and is passionate about treating dentally anxious patients. Alex receives regular referrals for sedation dentistry, root canal treatment, dental implants and for complex reconstructive treatment plans.
Outside of dentistry Alex enjoys all aspects of sport and regularly plays football.

Olivia Schorah
About Liv:
Liv obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Hons) from the University of Birmingham in 2018 and since qualifying has been on countless extra courses in various aspects of cosmetic dentistry. Liv joined Enhance Dental in 2019 and can be found making smiles more beautiful.
Outside of work, when she’s not travelling around the UK finding more cosmetic dentistry courses to do; you can find her going for walks down Leeds canal, and trialling out independent coffee shops.
Liv also love dogs so be prepared to get pictures of your fur babies out in surgery.

About Thomas:
Tom received a Distinction in Masters in Dental Surgery (Leeds) in 2018 has gone on to undertake four years of post-graduate training at specialist institutions around the UK.
Tom enjoys all aspects of dentistry and prides himself on delivering excellent patient care. Tom is a careful listener and takes time to understand our patients concerns to achieve the desired outcome.
Outside of work he enjoys playing tennis and music.

About Itziar:
Itziar achieved her dental qualifications in 2008 in Bilbao (Northern Spain) and then moved to the UK where she has been practicing general dentistry since. Itziar joined Enhance Dental in 2017.
Itziar pursued a career in Orthodontics and obtained her Master’s Degree in Orthodontics in 2018.
In her spare time, she enjoys travelling and cooking for friends and family.

Beth Reid
Bethany joined Enhance Dental in 2024, bringing her passion for building meaningful connections with every patient she meets. She loves helping others improve their oral health through personalised treatments, advice, and education, making sure each patient feels confident and cared for.
Outside of work, Bethany loves to travel, cook, and stay active with long walks with family and friends, as well as hitting the gym.

Leanne Farmery-Hague
Leanne joined Enhance Dental in March 2023. She is a highly qualified dental professional with a strong commitment to patient care and education. Graduating from the University of Leeds in 2004, Leanne has since dedicated her career to the field of dentistry. In 2012, she achieved a Certificate in Education, demonstrating a passion for teaching and sharing her clinical knowledge.
In 2020, Leanne furthered her expertise by studying for a Postgraduate Diploma in Paediatric Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, developing specialised knowledge in children’s oral health, to deliver the highest quality dental care.
Beyond her clinical responsibilities, Leanne plays a pivotal role in student education, sharing her knowledge, clinical expertise and academic strategies to inspire the next generation of dental professionals. Her commitment to undergraduate teaching and postgraduate education mirrors her passion for oral health, making her a respected educator in the field of dental therapy.
Outside of her professional life, Leanne enjoys an active lifestyle, dedicating her spare time to running, walking her 3 dogs, and biking. These pursuits reflect her own devotion to maintaining a healthy lifestyle demonstrating her commitment to her overall well-being.

Joe O’Reilly
Joseph O’Reilly qualified from Leeds Dental Institute as a dental technician. Through his constant passion for his work, he then enrolled in the prestigious Clinical Dental course in Preston. Joe then went on to receive a Diploma from The Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.
Joe has a passion for the industry, his eye for detail and careful planning ensures only the best results, giving his patients peace of mind and great clinical results. He has clinics across the UK and has helped many patients learn to smile confidently again. Joe’s ambition is also his craft, creating lifelike smiles through dentures and implants.

About Adriana:
Adriana joined our team in 2018 as an apprentice Dental Nurse, qualifying in 2019 and she is now the Manager of Enhance! Adriana is here to ensure the practice operates smoothly and is instrumental in keeping the practice compliant.
In her spare time, she is kept very busy creating balloon arches for special occasions and organising events.

About Lauren:
Lauren joined Enhance Dental in October 2016 as a Dental Nurse and is now our Marketing Manager. Lauren is the star behind our social media and general marketing and is focused on providing an excellent patient experience.
Outside of Enhance Dental, Lauren is a very skilled pyrography artist and makes custom artwork. Lauren loves gardening and is currently in the process of turning her garden into a peaceful sanctuary for nature.

About Kelly:
Kelly joined Enhance Dental in 2017 as a Dental Nurse. Kelly is now our Dental Implant Nurse and is key to the Dental Implant service at Enhance Dental. Kelly assists with the planning, provision, and aftercare of the Dental Implants.
Kelly is originally from Wales and after following her heart to Yorkshire she now lives with her husband, 3 dogs and 2 cats. Kelly loves going back to see her family in Wales and going cold water swimming!

About Jenny:
Jenny has been part of Enhance Dental for 20 years after joining the team in 2002. After working for many years as a Dental Nurse, Jenny found reception was her natural calling as she is so good at greeting patients with her lovely warm personality and listening ear.
Jenny prides herself on being a ‘Dance Mom’ and spends her spare time blinging outfits for her daughters. Jenny’s son is training to be a vehicle technician which comes in very handy when they need help with the car.

Sorina Parv
Qualifications: Sorina originally qualified as a dental nurse in Romania attending the University of Medicine and Pharmacy. After moving to the UK Sorina registered as a UK Dental Nurse, and later did a further certificate in Radiology and Radiography.
About Sorina:
Sorina joined Enhance Dental in 2015 and can usually be found assisting our Endodontic Dentist. Sorina is very caring and will always ensure patients are comfortable throughout any treatment.
Sorina is passionate about having a healthy lifestyle and loves cooking with her family. Sorina also loves working out and socialising with her friends.

About Lorraine:

Zofia joined our team in December 2022 as an apprentice dental nurse, and from day one, she’s impressed us with her dedication and passion. Thanks to her hard work, Zofia has now passed her dental nurse exams and is officially a fully qualified dental nurse!
She loves helping patients feel at ease and making sure they’re well cared for during their visit. With her friendly attitude and great attention to detail, Zofia brings a warm and personal touch to everything she does. She’s excited to keep learning and growing with us, all while making sure our patients continue to receive the best care possible.

Izabela Bociek
Izzy became part of the Enhance family in 2023 and proudly qualified as a dental nurse in 2025. She works closely alongside our clinicians and particularly enjoys supporting patients through more complex treatments like root canals and implants. You’ll often see her smiling at reception, always happy to help wherever she’s needed. Recently, Izzy has also taken on an exciting new role as our marketing assistant, bringing fresh ideas and plenty of enthusiasm to the team.
Outside the clinic, Izzy’s kept busy by her energetic three-year-old daughter and two cheeky pugs, they love exploring Temple Newsam together. At home, she’s often lending a hand with her fiancé as they renovate their first house

Georgie Green
Georgie joined Enhance Dental in 2023 as an apprentice dental nurse. She assists Dr. Mark Hanson with general dental care and emergency treatments. Georgie is incredibly organised and takes charge of managing our medical emergency drugs and equipment, as well as overseeing the stock checking and ordering of all the materials and instruments the dentists need. Her attention to detail ensures that everything is always in place and ready to go
Outside of work, Georgie enjoys decorating her new house, spending time with her family, cuddling her miniature schnauzer, Lottie, and relaxing with her boyfriend
Apprentice Dental Nurse
Jessica Rangeley
Jessica joined our team as an apprentice dental nurse in July 2024.
She works with all of our dentists to gain experience across a wide range of treatments, including general and cosmetic dentistry. Jess also supports our therapists in educating patients about the importance of healthy gums and strong dental foundations.
Outside of work, Jess enjoys spending time with her friends and making the most of her free time having fun.
