More than just beautiful teeth…..A new quality of life with dental implants
For patients wanting a Dental Implant solution to their missing teeth the Enhance Dental Implant team can provide a full range of dental implant solutions.
The implant clinic is part of Enhance Dental, and we have worked hard to gather together a highly trained team led by Laura Mikutyte who has a Masters degree in Implantology from Manchester University.
Laura is happy to take self- referrals, as well as referrals from General Dental Practitioners. Our treatment co-ordinators, Becca and Kelly, are also happy to answer any questions you may have and liaise with referring dentists.
We offer consultations to discuss areas of concern and tailor a treatment plan specific to our patient.
We also have a variety of finance options available.
What is a dental implant?
A dental implant is an artificial root that works like a natural one. This implant can then have a variety of uses, from supporting a single crown, through to supporting bridges or dentures, when several teeth may be missing.
Why choose dental implants for missing teeth?
Improved quality of life
What used to be normal activities like smiling, laughing, chewing or eating in a restaurant may now be embarrassing. You may find yourself avoiding photographs and choosing carefully off a menu. Dentures may rub and cause discomfort. Dental implants can be a life changing solution to these inconveniences.
Keeping your smile and preserving your facial appearance
An implant-borne restoration looks like a natural tooth. Implants also transmit chewing forces to the jaw bone. This is not the case if teeth are missing, or when a conventional denture has been put in place . If these forces cease, the bone may slowly recede and the shape of the face may change over time.
An implant merges with your body
Even the best prosthesis will always be a foreign body. By contrast, a dental implant is simply an artificial root, which on healing, merges with the body and acts like a natural one.
Bridge solution V Implant solution
Using a bridge to fill a space means that neighbouring teeth have to be ground down to fix the bridge in place. A dental implant replaces the root of the original tooth, while the neighbouring teeth remain intact.
Implants are a proven, safe and modern approach
Implant therapy is not experimental . It is a well-proven, state-of-the-art medical dental technique. We use Straumann ® Dental Implants which, through Swiss precision engineering and clinical excellence have earned worldwide trust.
